How do online group courses work?
Our online group courses use 'flipped learning', which encourages independence in the students who enrol. Please be aware that these courses require students to show dedication outside of the online sessions in order to achieve the most success possible.
Flipped learning is an approach that turns traditional teaching on its head. Instead of using the online tutoring time to go over full topics, the students are given revision material to complete before the lesson. The online group time is then left more free to be used to explore, apply, and deepen understanding. We find this structure means students get more focused support exactly where they need it most.
At Re:Tutoring, our online courses cover specific topics each week. Students will be sent a link to a pre-recorded session covering the week's content and corresponding skill focused questions to try before the session. Students will have access to a group WhatsApp where they can seek tutor support or support from one another, if needed. When we meet, online, we’ll use the time to work through problems that have arisen and clear up any confusion first and then the majority of the session will be spent working on exam technique, tackling more challenging questions to really make a difference.
